About Kanzler Biologicals
Kanzler Biologicals develops and investigates concepts for a compact artificial heart system in the non-clinical / benchtop domain — from Freiburg im Breisgau.
What it is about
The work has two focal points: a high-cycle polymer membrane system for a pulsatile artificial-heart pump — as a separate, documented R&D project — and the overall system with chambers, drives, pulmonary-circulation support, sensing, energy transfer and redundancy.
It began with first membrane-pump concepts and led through several architecture stages to today's system architecture.
How this website works
Every value carries a status: current architecture, under investigation, working value, design target, estimate, planned, measured or validated. Concept values are never phrased as proven device specifications. Earlier architecture stages remain visible in the development path instead of silently disappearing.
Schematics are labelled as such and do not show finished hardware.
